Gamer Girls

I do a lot of ranting on gaming and gamers but today I want to really focus on a particularly annoying section of attention-grabbing idiots.
Before I go on, I want to make it clear that I fully understand there are PLENTY of good gamer girls out there.  As with most fandoms/groups the good ones are normally quiet and well-mannered and may even make up the majority of people within that group... however the people who are the loudest usually represent that entire group because they are the ones in the spotlight.
So, today, I give you a rant on those girls who are in the spotlight of the gaming community...  the cock-teasing fucktards that make me almost ashamed to call myself a gamergirl.

The burning desire to rant about this started the other evening when I watched a video of ijustine playing portal 2.  I had always heard of her but never watched any of her videos.
She is considered one of the most famous gamer girls in the entire internet and yet she couldn't really game herself out of a paperbag.  She's a pretty little barbie doll who's head is just as empty.
In fact MOST of the girls I've encountered who say "I'm a gamer girl" are a bunch of attention-grabbing fuckwits.  It's like they started playing because some boyfriend said "Hey you want to spend more time with me, play some halo!" and then just because they managed to get 1 kill in they think they are a gamer.  From what I can tell, most of the time, they stumble across a kill or solve a puzzle by ACCIDENT.  They don't go out and seek games that aren't highlighted in big bold letters.  They don't have any particular kind of game or system they prefer or reasons to back up their claims.  Sometimes they even think because they play FACEBOOK crap that it makes them a gamer.

FUCK that.

Fuck you ijustine, fuck all of you modelesque girls who don't really give a fuck about games or their stories or the time and effort put into them to give us beauty and philosophy.
Games are, first and formost, supposed to be fun but they are also supposed to teach us something... something about survival, something about history, something about tactics, something about art, something about the human condition.  We interact with AI and environments (both detailed and not) as a means of learning more about ourselves.  This is what makes gaming so magnificent.
Gamers today are able to solve complex protein structures and find cures for aids.  Gamers can be given armies and map out complex and creative tactical positions.
But the girls that often times represent the female half of the fandom are moronic.  Honestly, I haven't even seen girls like Olivia Mund do much gaming so I can't even be sure that she's a good role model.  (I'm very open to persuasion on that one).

But, in the end, it just seems to me gamer girls found a group of lonely guys they can tease around by a leash attatched to their tits while feeling, falsely, that they belong to some elite cool group of people.
I find the real gamer girls don't parade around saying "I'M A GAMER GIRL".  They usually just call themselves a gamer... and they happen to be a chick.

I'm a gamer, plain and simple.

Gotta have DEM LAWS to GOVERN YUR MORULS

One of the most fucking asinine things that has been around since forever is what I call moralistic law.  These are the laws which are conceptualized and approved and upheld for the sole purpose of governing a societies moral behavior.

The problem with this is mostly the measuring stick in which we use to determine what is moral. What is right? What is wrong?  There are people out there who REALLY DO think if you don't have "God in your heart" you can't possibly be a moral person.  This of course is one of the most ignorant and detrimental ideas to have ever been thought.

First example would be gay marriage.  Why is it illegal for people of the same sex to marry?  Because people perceive it as being immoral.  Does it have ANY logical basis or benefit to our society or government? Not even a little.  Opening up marriage rights will cause a huge flow of money being provided to our state governments which will in turn help jump start our economy and get money back into some of our more important social institutions, like schools.

Prohibition is another great example.  Everyone thinks of the 1920's alcohal prohibiton but it's happening RIGHT NOW, today, everywhere.  Most people don't realize that pot farming was one of the cornerstones to this country, then eventually the feds wanted to tax it and soon the taxation basically caused it to be illegal till they finally made it official.  It wasn't till the early 1900s we started to get all moral about pot and all these exaggerations started circulating about how bad it is.
Pot is only illegal because of people's perceptions on morality.  They want to SAY it's because of health but if that were true then why wouldn't they make alcohol illegal or fatty foods or smoking or CARS. (Mental note: I suppose people ARE trying to make all that illegal lol...)

Third example is abortion.  There was a time when abortion was illegal but people kept doing it.  However they were getting it done with back-ally doctors and in their own homes with dangerous (much of the time FATAL) home-kits.  Women were getting sick and dying because there was no regulation or enforcement of standards.  We made it legal so that these citizens could be protected and maintain health.  Now we're making it illegal again... guess whats going to happen.
Sick women... dying sisters... a continuation of over-crowding in cities and increase in food costs to make up for the larger population.
You want to live in that world? I sure as hell don't.

Look, you can have whatever moral opinions you damn well want.  Morally, I'm against abortion.  Legally I'm 100% pro because I care enough about those women who feel they have no other choice to say they need a facility that is clean and has certified REAL doctors to perform the task.
In other words, my morals should in NO FUCKING WAY affect the choice of someone else who doesn't share my opinion.

The real issue I find is basing all these laws off some outdated religiously based morality forces people who don't share those opinions to live by them; however if we based our lawmaking off a far more logical perspective and got RID of these fucking archaic laws then those moralistic types can still have their damn morals but at least the people who don't agree with them can make their own choice and live their own lives as they feel is right.

So c'mon guys.  Lets legalize pot, abortion, ALL forms of marriage, prostitution! Lets lift limitations and free ourselves from the neo-christian stuck up tight ass perspective!
They can be as blind and shut-off from reality as they want... so long as they don't force the blindfold over my own damn eyes.

Let's talk about sex baby

I am SO FUCKING PISSED at everyone waving their sexuality around like it was some kind of god damn golden ticket.
What I mean is people seem to think being a virgin is something to be proud of or being a non-virgin is something to be proud of or being gay or being straight, bi, transgendered, whateverthefuckoxesual... I'm really getting sick of this shit.

You are what you are and you can be proud of yourself without using what you are as a means of making others feel bad.

I'm not a virgin but I certainly don't go around saying "Oh MY GOD all you non-virgins are such losers!! GO GET LAID YOU FUCKIN PRUDES" but even if I WAS a virgin I also wouldn't be marching about with a holier-than-thou attitude, parading in my finest white garments saying "this is my choice and I'm damn proud to be a virgin!"

I mean really, why are you so proud of being a virgin?  Why are you so proud of not being a virgin??  If you're gay then that's just a state of self... just... it's really no big deal.
Just about nothing involving your sexuality is a big deal in fact.

I like fat people... whats the big deal? NOTHING.  I'm bisexual... what's the big deal? NOTHING. I haven't been a virgin since I was 17... whats the big deal? NO-FUCKING-THING.  I'm just going to do what I do and not down others for what they do enjoy unless it's something legitimately harmful.

The only reason why anyone would want to reblog one of those stupid "I'm proud to be a virgin/gay/straight/non-virgin/bisexual..." posts is to feel like they aren't alone; that they belong to some larger group who understands their feelings.

I think this is a great thing to feel connected to other people and it SHOULD be sought out but when you start connecting to these kindred-hearts by riddiculing others who are just trying to do the same thing then you have crossed a fucking line.

Hey virgins don't feel bad, EVER, for being a virgin... but please don't look down on others who've had sex just to feel better about yourselves.

Be proud of things you've done and be proud of being the best person you can be, not because of your sexuality.

Basically I'm getting sick of people buying a game and beating it in a few hours and then going "That sucked".  If it sucked why did you keep playing it for 3 hours??
Are you saying it sucked because it was so short? Did you even fully utilize the gameplay?

People bought the first Fable and brought it back after a few hours demanding their money back because they beat it but didn't even BOTHER side questing or exploring or experiencing everything the game had to offer.  That's your damn fault buddy.

I think in the dimension I'm from gamers played for fun.  They didn't constantly brag about how many hours they punched in to some pathetic game, they didn't rag on the female gamers playing Call of Duty just to make themselves feel more manly, they actually try to play a game to the full extent to get their money's worth...

In short, I want everyone to shut the fuck up about Portal 2 and how much you thought it sucked because you played it for 3 hours and beat it.  All that tells me is you're a pathetic loser with no real life or real drive to ENJOY something.

Also: Don't necessarily listen to those pathetic people when choosing what game to buy.  Just try it for yourself; make your own opinion on it.

Get the f*** out of my marriage.

I feel like the universe or alternate plane I was born into was far more relaxed on marriage than this existence I fell into.  I'm sitting here watching TV, hoping the dwarves in my head will stop pounding away at the walls of my brain (#migraine), and saw a commercial for the new season of Sister Wives.

For those who don't know this show is about a multi-wife family that has 13 kids in total.  I've been interested in watching the show because I believe open-marriages can work and be a beautiful thing and I'm always curious how other couples do it.

Then I became shocked.

One of the wives gets fired for being in a polygamist relationship?

WHAT?

I celebrated last year for the huge steps we took in accepting people's relationships.  I mean DADT ended and Obama extended the anti-prejudice laws to include sexual preference and orientation... but this issue regarding open marriages seems to be whole 'nother monster we haven't been able to defeat.

To be honest I'm boggled at how a company could get away with firing someone over their relationships with people.  I can't find ANY law that permits them to "let go" of someone based off moral disagreement (though it's not technically illegal either) and the only thing I COULD find is it's only illegal to be poly in some states due to adultery laws.

Most of the personal arguments I see against poly-relationships and open marriages involve jealousy issues.  God damnit people, why is it you are satisfied to feel and not ask why you feel it??

Feelings are NOT infalible and often times are irrational reactions to generally insignificant problems/stress.

Why should you care about who I marry or have sex with?  This is between myself and my husband and after we worked through some of those basic problems being in an open relationship has actually HELPED us and made us stronger and love each other so much more.

No it's not for everyone, I get that, however for people like me and so many others I know it is rewarding and beautiful.

Who exactly am I hurting by having an open relationship? No one.

This is business between myself, my husband, and our partners and you know what? We aren't diseased, we are safe, and ever since we opened up our relationship we have just grown to love each other more and more and more.

Actually this reminds me of another rant I'd like to make regarding morality and law making but I'll save that for another day.

End the heterophobia!

So I just recently got back from Derpcon FurryFiesta 2011 and overall I had an incredibly wonderful time!  However, in the tradition that "furries ruin everything" there was at least one thing that happened that now compels me to rant a little.

For those who don't know, I am an artist of the furry fashion and I love going to Furry Fiesta.  Every year I attend the adult drawing panel to learn a few new things and laugh heartily at the massive immaturity that washes over us while we draw penises and vaginas and boobs.  But, EVERY YEAR, there are a small handful of people that go to this panel that seem emphatically anti-female.

I respect the fact you are gay and you don't find women physically attractive.  I don't really care what you stick your cock into!  However, don't go to a public panel and bash a gender just because you find their girly-bits disgusting.  Let me give you a little hint: girls DO exist on the internet, they DO exist in the furry fandom, and if you didn't notice we were IN THAT PANEL.  You don't hear us going "EWWW PENIS OMG IT'S SO GROSS" when they start drawing it up on the board.

I'm sure there's plenty of reasons this kind of heterophobia exists.  While making my way down from Dallas to Austin I realized there are many people who are looking for acceptance while having flawed perceptions on the other gay furs in the community.  I suspect many of these heterophobic types think other gay guys also hate vaginas and so to gain a greater acceptance with the group they very loudly proclaim their disgust towards female anatomy.  Another reason for this (offensive) hatred is the possibility many of these heterophobic gay males were hurt by a girl in the past and started to generalize all females as being painful or disgusting.

Whatever the reason, get over it.

I certainly couldn't help being born a girl no more than you could help being born a boy and so it is WRONG and insolent to yell out things like "EW VAGMONSTERS! LETS GET TO THE PENIS" in ANY public setting; especially ones where there are a number of strong-willed women with claws sitting around you.
